Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to the completion of high school
  • one year of experience in food preparation and/or food services
  • possession of or ability to obtain a Food Handlers Certification
  • ability to complete DOJ live scan/fingerprinting
  • tuberculosis risk assessment clearance
  • ability to perform physical tasks associated with food service work
  • availability to work during academic sessions
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Equivalent to the completion of high school
  • one year of experience in food preparation and/or food services
  • possession of or ability to obtain a Food Handlers Certification
  • knowledge of food service methods, procedures, and sanitation standards
  • skills in operating kitchen and food service equipment
  • ability to provide leadership and direction to staff
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • ability to maintain accuracy and detail in work
  • adaptability and willingness to work under physically demanding conditions

Job Duties

  • Leads, plans, assists, and reviews work of food service staff including setting up serving areas
  • provides lead support and instruction on proper food service methods and procedures
  • oversees use and care of food service equipment
  • verifies work accuracy and compliance with standards and safety practices
  • assists in opening and closing assigned areas including operating ovens and lights
  • operates and oversees POS system, trains others on cash register procedures, handles money and register operations
  • prepares and serves a variety of foods while maintaining health and sanitation standards
  • maintains cleanliness of work areas and kitchen equipment
  • operates a variety of kitchen equipment including slicers, grinders, grills, deep fryers, and dishwashers
  • prepares food and sets up trays for special events
  • maintains inventory and places orders
  • maintains records such as inventories, sales reports, invoices, and purchase orders
  • responds courteously to inquiries and resolves complaints
  • performs other related duties as assigned
