Job Duties

  • assist the district’s efforts in bringing nutrition education and promotion activities into the classroom and cafeteria
  • clean, sanitize, and store food contact surfaces, pots, pans, trays, plates, utensils, appliances, other serveware, equipment, and food storage areas
  • assist in setting up serving lines and salad bars
  • prepare and serve food to students and staff by activities such as preparing sandwiches and salads, washing and cutting fresh produce, and following standardized recipes
  • assemble, deliver, retrieve, and sanitize breakfast bags
  • prepare and collect breakfast meal count sheets
  • prepare, distribute, and collect student lunch ID badges
  • take student meal counts through the point of sale (POS) system, act as cashier for adult meals, count cash receipts, and prepare simple records
  • assist with receiving deliveries
  • follow the department’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan, including complying with personal hygiene protocols when handling food
  • perform other related duties as required
