Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Certification through local City Health Department preferred
  • Certified through Texas Association for School Nutrition preferred
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation
  • Demonstrate good personal work habits
  • Knowledge and certification in HACCP sanitation and safety practices
  • Able to read and understand production records and recipes
  • Able to convert recipes using basic math skills
  • Completion of sanitation and safety courses preferred
  • Experience in institutional food service operations preferred

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Support the department with regular attendance and punctuality
  • Show high initiative and self-motivation
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace
  • Read and understand production records and recipes and follow them
  • Prepare all meal components in correct quantity according to menu specifications
  • Maintain a clean kitchen utilizing proper hygiene and sanitation procedures
  • Communicate all product usage and report equipment issues to the kitchen manager
