Job Duties
- Prepare food by performing tasks such as slicing meat, baking breads, making desserts, portioning and packaging prepared food
- serving food during breakfast, lunch and snack periods and general kitchen clean up
- operate food service equipment such as slicer, mixer, tilt skillet, fryer, convection oven, range, warmer, refrigerator, freezer, wrapping machine, sectionizer, coffee maker, steam table, soft drink machine, cocoa machine, mobile cruiser cart and speed line equipment
- perform cashiering tasks including taking money and lunch cards from students, checking rosters, compiling daily bank deposits
- maintain and compile records such as production worksheets, student charges, rosters and daily participation reports
- retrieve information from computer terminal
- drive district vehicles and be responsible for pack-out, delivery and serving to food service facilities
- direct co-workers in specific tasks and maintain safety and sanitation standards
- assist with inventory management
- receive food and supplies, storing them in walk-in refrigerators and freezers
- assist in training substitute food service workers
- maintain proper care of equipment
- assume unit leader duties in their absence
- perform other duties as required
