Job Requirements

  • Proof of high school graduation
  • One year experience preferred in food preparation of large quantities
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, and crouch
  • Willingness to follow safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of proper methods of preparing and cooking large quantities of food
  • Ability to use decimals, fractions, and percentages
  • Care and use of standard kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ability to cook skillfully following recipes
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals
  • Assist in washing and cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
  • Use prescribed menu and follow established procedures and production schedules
  • Perform assigned cooking tasks including main dishes, vegetables, soups, salads, and baked goods
  • Maintain standards of safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance
  • Count meals served
  • Inventory food to ensure adequate supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
