Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service is preferred but not required
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Ability to work on-call as needed
- Must be able to handle physical demands of the job including standing for long periods
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
Job Qualifications

- Prior experience in food service or kitchen environment helpful
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate food service equipment safely
- Capable of working as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of main dishes, vegetables, salads, fruits, sandwiches, and beverages
- Assist in baking of breads, cookies, cakes, pastries and other desserts
- Set up utensils and equipment for lunches
- Serve a wide variety of lunches and snacks to students, faculty and others
- May assist with the collection of moneys received from the sale of school lunches, snacks and other food stuffs
- Clean and store dishes, utensils, cafeteria equipment and food supplies
- Clean work areas and dispose of refuse
- May assist with wrapping, packing and loading of food for transport to satellite serving kitchen
- May assist in taking inventory
- May supervise student helpers
- Operate mixer, grinder, dishwasher and other equipment common to large kitchens
- Perform other duties as requested
