The company is currently hiring a Substitute Food Service Worker to operate within the Brentwood Borough School District cafeterias on an as-needed basis. This flexible position offers day shifts Monday through Friday, with no evenings, weekends, or holiday work, making it an ideal role for those seeking work-life balance. As a Substitute Food Service Worker, the role involves assisting with various kitchen activities including cooking, food preparation, portioning, and serving meals to students and staff. Workers will also be responsible for complying with HAACP procedures and health department regulations to maintain the highest levels of food safety. Additionally, the role includes assisting with monitoring food costs and managing inventory controls, contributing to efficient and economical operation of the food service program.
This position is suited for individuals with a positive and consistent work ethic, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role. Although food service experience and computer literacy are preferred, they are not mandatory. Candidates must be able to obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks to qualify for employment. The job also involves physical demands such as standing for extended periods, walking, sitting, lifting over 40 pounds, and performing pushing or pulling tasks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for working effectively within the school district environment.
