Job Description

Taft College, located in Taft, California, is a well-established community college with a rich history dating back to its founding on August 30, 1922.   • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with social media and promotional activities preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Basic computer and office skills

Job Duties

  • General upkeep and organization of the MESA Center
  • Supporting staff in planning, coordinating, and executing student outreach and engagement activities
  • Assisting with recruitment and retention efforts, including presentations and campus tours
  • Helping students navigate campus resources and other student support services
  • Assisting with social media and promotional efforts for the MESA program
  • Providing general office and administrative support, such as data entry and answering inquiries
  • Representing the college at on- and off-campus events
  • Maintaining regular contact with assigned mentees
  • Meeting in person with mentees to provide support in goal achievement
  • Completing assigned projects and meeting deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned
