Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in food service or nutrition
- Ability to follow government regulations and safety standards
- Willingness to complete required certification courses
- Ability to work 8 hours per day Monday through Friday
- Ability to lift 31-50 lbs
- Commitment to punctual attendance
- Ability to work in physically demanding positions
- Valid MN Food Manager's Certificate
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations
- Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification
- Computer skills and experience or willing to learn
- Regular, on-time attendance is required
- Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position
- Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs
- MN Food Manager's Certificate required
- SNA Level 4 (preferred)
Job Duties
- Direct and participate in meal preparation and daily meal service
- Ensure correct portions are served by adhering to production records and standardized recipes
- Assist with set up of serving lines
- Complete daily production records for breakfast/lunch/snacks
- Ensure all Federal and State government regulations are adhered to
- Ensure that students with special diet accommodations receive the correct meals
- Train new staff members and monitor performance
