Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or related field preferred
- Completion or willingness to complete sanitation and safety certification courses
- Ability to handle food allergens and meat products safely
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting 31-50 lbs
- Regular and punctual attendance
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations
- Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification
- Computer skills and experience or willing to learn
- Regular, on-time attendance is required
- Ability to stoop, bend, and occasionally assume awkward positions
- Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs
Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation as assigned and set up food serving lines
- Position involves handling a number of food allergens and a variety of meat products
- Serve food in the correct portions by adhering to the production records and standardized recipes
- Assist in clean up
- Perform Point of Sale (POS) procedures as assigned
- Adhere to District's HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan
- Wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment and utensils according to USDA and local guidelines
- Support and promote the meal programs offered at the site
- Perform other tasks within the level of responsibilities indicated above as assigned by supervisor
