Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time as a student
  • Ability to work both in office and industrial settings
  • Capability to safely access and navigate shipyard and construction areas
  • Physical ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders
  • Ability to transit scaffolding and confined spaces
  • Willingness to work in environments with hazardous materials, loud noise, dust, fumes, and exposure to weather
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate computers and office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time as a student
  • Interest or prior work experience in ship design, shipbuilding, construction management, or manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in PC word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
  • Experience with CAD/CAE systems is desirable
  • Ability to express ideas orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal flexibility

Job Duties

  • Assist naval architects and marine engineers with current projects
  • Create and modify CAD drawings
  • Perform research using online and printed resources
  • Use software to perform stability and structural calculations
  • Accompany senior naval architects during shipboard inspections and testing
  • Report regularly to department manager/supervisor on project status
