Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time as a student
- Ability to work both in office and industrial settings
- Capability to safely access and navigate shipyard and construction areas
- Physical ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders
- Ability to transit scaffolding and confined spaces
- Willingness to work in environments with hazardous materials, loud noise, dust, fumes, and exposure to weather
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to operate computers and office equipment
Job Qualifications
- Currently enrolled full-time as a student
- Interest or prior work experience in ship design, shipbuilding, construction management, or manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in PC word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
- Experience with CAD/CAE systems is desirable
- Ability to express ideas orally and in writing
- Demonstrate a high degree of personal flexibility
Job Duties
- Assist naval architects and marine engineers with current projects
- Create and modify CAD drawings
- Perform research using online and printed resources
- Use software to perform stability and structural calculations
- Accompany senior naval architects during shipboard inspections and testing
- Report regularly to department manager/supervisor on project status
