Job Requirements

  • Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with at least six credit hours during the current semester or have completed six credit hours in the previous semester with plans to enroll in the upcoming semester
  • maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA or have approval from the Senior Student Services officer
  • complete all UAS employee required training including safety, Title IX, Protection of Minors, Campus Security Authority, and FERPA within two weeks of hire
  • provide evidence of enrollment
  • ability to perform physical tasks including walking and lifting 25-50 pounds
  • preferred valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • submit to and pass a background check

Job Qualifications

  • Enrollment in the University of Alaska system with six or more credit hours
  • minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA or good academic standing
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • experience in custodial or cleaning work preferred
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • conflict mediation and problem-solving skills
  • completion of required employee training within two weeks of hire

Job Duties

  • Provide custodial support for student and conference housing
  • perform cleaning of residential facilities including common areas and individual rooms
  • operate cleaning equipment and safely use approved chemicals
  • follow hazardous materials and safety training protocols
  • communicate effectively with residents and guests
  • handle conflict mediation and problem-solving
  • complete assigned tasks efficiently and maintain organized work areas
