Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of event planning and hospitality experience
  • Experience in a student service environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in office software and equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • Ability to work full-time with flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must complete required fingerprinting and background checks
  • Provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Submission of negative TB test results within required timeframe
  • Must sign loyalty oath
  • No immigration sponsorship is provided

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of event planning/hospitality experience
  • General clerical and keyboarding experience in a student service environment
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Experience in student programming or government advising preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience preferred
  • Experience with social media promotion
  • Experience working directly with students in events and student government
  • Knowledge of event planning steps and logistics
  • Knowledge of student government procedures
  • Working knowledge of office practices and equipment
  • Knowledge of financial record keeping, budget, purchasing, payroll processing
  • Proficient with computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics
  • Business mathematics skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong human relations skills

Job Duties

  • Provide support to student programs such as ASCC government, homecoming, awards, banquets, commencement, conferences, and elections
  • Receive proposals, applications, or instructions
  • Arrange logistics for venues, setup, catering, announcements, decorations, and awards
  • Set up sequential steps and lead times to ensure event readiness
  • Order supplies, certificates, awards, catering services, prepare name cards and badges, secure props
  • Prepare correspondence, brochures, flyers, banners, and other promotional materials
  • Assist with student elections including receiving applications, verifying student status, organizing elections, and controlling voting
  • Create and maintain agendas for student government meetings
  • Assist or advise student leaders on note-taking
  • Maintain files and records of student government activities
  • Clear and process student government applications
  • Verify student eligibility
  • Ensure agendas and minutes are posted
  • Assist with research and development of ASCC budget proposals
  • Administer approved budgets and reconcile accounts
  • Collect and reconcile event fees
  • Prepare requisitions and manage accounts payable
  • Maintain payroll and absence documentation
  • Process student hourly payroll and prepare timecards
  • Compile and distribute data
  • Organize and maintain files, type documents, and facilitate communications
  • Maintain knowledge and skills related to duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
