Job Requirements

  • Federal Work-Study student
  • food service experience preferred
  • able to read and follow recipes and oral instructions
  • able to count items accurately
  • able to read and record temperatures
  • able to work efficiently to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • able to operate small ware chopper, buffalo chopper, meat slicer, and food processor
  • able to operate capping machine
  • able to understand diet restrictions
  • able to work independently and with a team
  • able to complete paperwork
  • must achieve ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 6 months
  • must maintain ServSafe certification
  • reliable punctuality and physical attendance

Job Qualifications

  • able to read and record temperatures with thermometers
  • able to follow production schedules efficiently
  • able to operate and clean kitchen equipment such as choppers and slicers
  • able to operate capping machine
  • able to understand diet restrictions for packing cold foods
  • able to work independently and in a team
  • able to complete required paperwork
  • must achieve ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 6 months
  • must retain ServSafe certification as condition of employment

Job Duties

  • Gather ingredients required according to daily production sheets
  • prepare foods including portioning, capping, and packaging following recipes, menus, and food handling procedures
  • prepare desserts including baking and frosting
  • participate in tray-line assembly and pack hot food for delivery
  • transport filled containers to delivery area
  • keep work area organized and clean
  • complete and submit paperwork daily
  • perform activities to expedite meals
  • participate in tray line assembly
  • participate in bag line assembly and pack cold foods on designated carts
  • perform all other duties as assigned
