Job Description
The University of Houston System, a reputable public university system committed to providing quality education and fostering a dynamic campus environment, is currently seeking a dedicated Specialist to join the Student Center department. This role is a full-time position with working hours from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and offers a competitive hourly salary range of $15.14 to $17.04. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of directly related job experience or education in lieu of experience
- Ability to work full time from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Ability to perform light custodial tasks
- Ability to supervise and train a team
- Willingness to submit to criminal history check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple math
- Minimum of one year of directly related job experience or education in lieu of experience
- Ability to supervise and train student crew members
- Competency in setting up furniture and audiovisual equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up for scheduled events in the Student Center and Satellite facilities
- Perform light custodial work including trash removal, cleaning tables, floors, and whiteboards
- Check and replenish supplies associated with room equipment
- Monitor and adjust room temperatures, door access, and lighting
- Place printed room cards for scheduled events
- Supervise and train student Event Set-Up Crew members
- Identify and report repairs and replacement needs for furnishings and equipment
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
