Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum two years of relevant clinical experience
- Proficiency in managing clinical programs
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with cardiovascular procedures and patient education
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Current BCLS (CPR) certification or ability to obtain
- Commitment to regulatory compliance and quality assurance
- Availability to work overtime and flexible schedules
- Proficiency in computer software relevant to healthcare data management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Master’s or advanced degree preferred
- Two to five years of job-related experience required
- Five or more years of job-related experience preferred
- Project management training and experience preferred
- Experience with registries preferred
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Creative and collaborative work style
- Current knowledge of cardiovascular research and patient education
- Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of regulatory environment
- Analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and understand parameters of independent practice
Job Duties
- Coordinate diagnostic work up and care of valve patients
- Manage patient tracking, triage, and wait list
- Participate in and coordinate case selection using defined guidelines
- Plan and implement Valve Clinic and Program
- Oversee valve clinic schedule and processes
- Participate on internal and external committees and task forces
- Make rounds to hospitalized valve patients for assessment, coordination of care and discharge management
- Develop and implement patient and family educational materials
- Coordinate communication with outside agencies and providers
- Collaborate with marketing for community outreach
- Manage TVT registry ensuring accurate data reporting
- Act as primary resource for TVT registry data integrity
- Compile and organize documents for providers
- Abstract core patient information from medical records
- Identify and resolve quality issues from the registry
- Work with IT and quality departments on registry maintenance
- Retrieve and display data for research studies
- Ensure processes capture accurate and pertinent data
- Serve as contact with registry vendor and maintain software updates
- Support quality and committee activities with medical director and manager
- Create report cards for cardiovascular services and physicians
- Participate in informed consent process for clinical research
- Assist in program evaluation and improvement
- Conduct patient care assessments and process analysis
- Create action plans for performance improvement
- Participate in hospital-wide process improvement events
- Coordinate clinical research protocol follow-up and compliance
- Collaborate on clinical protocols and research opportunities
- Maintain confidentiality of registry and patient files
- Develop inpatient and outpatient care plans
- Promote communication among healthcare team members
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement service enhancements
- Develop educational materials and training for patient care staff
- Ensure a safe and secure environment
- Communicate respectfully
- Complete assigned job-related duties and projects
- Attend department meetings
- Complete mandatory education and competencies
- Maintain licenses and certifications
- Utilize appropriate universal precautions and ergonomic techniques
- Adhere to regulatory agency requirements and compliance
