Job Requirements
- Certified personal training certificate from an accredited agency
- Minimum three years strength coaching experience at collegiate or open level
- Demonstrated knowledge of fitness, wellness, and sports training techniques
- Ability to operate and instruct use of fitness and strength equipment
- Capability to lift and carry weights up to 45 pounds independently
- Ability to supervise, mentor and manage personnel

- Eligibility to undergo a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
- Must comply with Federal government drug-free workplace policies

Job Qualifications
- Must possess a certified personal training certificate from an accredited agency such as Cooper Aerobics Institute or National Strength and Conditioning Association
- Three years experience strength coaching at the collegiate or open level
- Knowledge to competently carry out continuing fitness and wellness programs
- Knowledge of aerobic exercises, weight conditioning, weight control and calisthenics timing and repetition benefits
- Understanding of fitness exercises impact on anatomy to tailor plans for participants with health concerns
- Knowledge of team and individual sports to organize and train personnel
Job Duties
- Serves as a Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Strength and Conditioning Coach)
- Performs administration and implementation of Health and Fitness Program initiatives
- Prepares and executes strength and conditioning programs for Marines and family members
- Maintains working knowledge of fitness trends and equipment
- Demonstrates and coaches proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment
- Conducts fitness assessments including cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular endurance, core strength, flexibility and anthropometric measurements
- Provides technical guidance to military units on fitness and sports training
- Monitors and maintains fitness center operations
- Instructs individuals and groups on conditioning and training programs
- Supervises employees including assigning work, coaching, counseling and mentoring
- Approves leave and completes personnel actions and performance reviews
- Provides superior customer service and resolves problems
- Develops and implements activity safety programs
- Ensures compliance with OSHA standards and safety regulations
- Reports workplace accidents and conducts safety training
- Ensures care of equipment and security of facilities
- Performs physical tasks including lifting and carrying objects up to 45 lbs independently and heavier with assistance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
