Job Requirements
- Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License
- must participate in a Hepatitis B inoculation program at the city's expense
- must complete Industrial Truck Training and Certification
- must complete Blood Borne Pathogens Training
- must participate in required overtime for emergencies and other work assignments
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- ASE Parts Specialist Certification Level P1
- five years of experience in parts, stock, or supply room operations and inventory control or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- proficiency with fleet management software and common office software such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to maintain detailed records and inventory
- experience collaborating with vendors and suppliers
- valid Michigan Driver's License
Job Duties
- Order parts requested by the mechanics and ensure all necessary parts for repairs are accounted for
- reorder stock and supplies using purchase orders
- receive, inspect, count, and store parts and supplies on purchase orders
- input invoices into fleet software for parts, supplies, and services
- issue parts and special tools from stock to mechanics
- keep a clean and organized workspace
- assist in managing the City's vehicle fleet using fleet software
- use various software solutions such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Collective Data to maintain parts and supplies records
- maintain accurate inventory levels of all parts, tools, and supplies in fleet software
- participate in an annual inventory of the parts warehouse
- research best availability, price, and quality of parts needed for equipment repair
- collaborate with Parts Supervisor and vendors on pricing, delivery, and return of outdated parts
- communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and other departments using phones, email, and Microsoft Teams
