Job Requirements
- minimum age of 16 years
- ability to stand for long periods
- capability to lift heavy items between 40 to 65 pounds
- pass a drug screening in applicable states
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- physical ability to perform pet care duties
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior retail or customer service experience beneficial
- knowledge of pet products and animal care recommended
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- basic math skills for cash handling
- willingness to learn and adapt to new information or procedures
Job Duties
- assist customers in selecting appropriate toys, food, and pet accessories
- educate customers about pet ownership and care
- stock shelves and maintain store inventory
- operate cash registers and process customer purchases
- care for animals including feeding and habitat cleaning
- provide accurate information about Preferred Pet Club membership
- safely unload deliveries and handle physical merchandise
- assist customers by carrying purchases to their vehicles
