Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
  • previous lead and grocery store experience preferred
  • attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
  • ability to comply with company policies and procedures
  • willingness to maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to train and supervise associates
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • reliable and customer-focused work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and safety rules
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages
  • ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
  • ability to review operating statements and identify business trends including sales and profitability
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability
  • knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • understanding of safety policies and practices
  • ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
  • good organization skills with attention to detail

Job Duties

  • assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices
  • follow company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance
  • maintain correct perishable stock levels using various planning tools
  • assist in training associates on presentation, freshness, pricing, and food safety handling
  • train associates on proper stocking and rotation of perishable products
  • record perishables markdowns, analyze causes and take corrective action
  • maintain daily customer contact to address merchandise requests and expectations
