Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead and grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
- ability to comply with company policies and procedures
- willingness to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- ability to train and supervise associates
- strong organizational and communication skills
- reliable and customer-focused work ethic
Job Qualifications
- ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and safety rules
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages
- ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends including sales and profitability
- knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- effective interpersonal and communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
- good organization skills with attention to detail
Job Duties
- assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices
- follow company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels using various planning tools
- assist in training associates on presentation, freshness, pricing, and food safety handling
- train associates on proper stocking and rotation of perishable products
- record perishables markdowns, analyze causes and take corrective action
- maintain daily customer contact to address merchandise requests and expectations
