Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Qualifications
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, diagrams, and procedures
- ability to perform mathematical calculations
- ability to learn and perform cash register functions
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
- knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures
- knowledge of facility and safety policies
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- good organization skills with attention to detail
- effective interpersonal and communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and merchandising presentation guidelines
- willingness to comply with company policies
- ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
Job Duties
- assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security
- follow company policies and assist in ensuring employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels using various order guides and sales history tools
- assist in training associates on stocking, presentation, freshness, pricing, and safe food handling
- record perishable markdowns and work on corrective actions
- train associates in grading and repackaging produce
- accurately record inventory levels
- assist in addressing customer needs efficiently
- ensure compliance with sanitation standards and train associates in cleaning schedules
- assist with other operational areas as directed by Store Manager
