Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in a retail environment
- six months supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
- ability to read and interpret documents
- ability to perform mathematical calculations
- ability to learn cash register functions
- good organizational skills
- effective communication skills
- understanding of safety policies
- willingness to comply with company procedures
- ability and willingness to obtain food handling certifications
Job Qualifications
- ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends, expense control opportunities, shrink, and errors
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- good organization skills with attention to detail
- effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
- ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling
- high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Duties
- assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and security practices
- follow company policies and assist in employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using multiple order guides and sales data
- train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing, stocking, rotation, and safe food handling practices
- record and analyze perishable markdowns and take corrective actions
- accurately record inventory levels as requested
- assist store manager in addressing customer needs efficiently
- ensure compliance with sanitation standards and train associates in cleaning schedules
- assist with other operational areas as directed by the store manager
