Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience in a retail environment
  • six months supervisory experience preferred
  • previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
  • attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
  • ability to read and interpret documents
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • ability to learn cash register functions
  • good organizational skills
  • effective communication skills
  • understanding of safety policies
  • willingness to comply with company procedures
  • ability and willingness to obtain food handling certifications

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
  • ability to review operating statements and identify business trends, expense control opportunities, shrink, and errors
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
  • knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies
  • knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
  • good organization skills with attention to detail
  • effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • understanding of safety policies and practices
  • ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
  • knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
  • ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling

  • one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
  • previous lead or grocery store experience preferred

Job Duties

  • assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and security practices
  • follow company policies and assist in employee compliance
  • maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using multiple order guides and sales data
  • train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing, stocking, rotation, and safe food handling practices
  • record and analyze perishable markdowns and take corrective actions
  • accurately record inventory levels as requested
  • assist store manager in addressing customer needs efficiently
  • ensure compliance with sanitation standards and train associates in cleaning schedules
  • assist with other operational areas as directed by the store manager
