Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of retail experience
- six months of supervisory experience
- previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Qualifications
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and manuals
- ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- ability to learn and perform cash register functions
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
- knowledge of cash handling procedures and security policies
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- good organization skills with attention to detail
- effective interpersonal and communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- willingness to comply with company policies and obtain required food handling certifications
Job Duties
- assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and key control
- follow company policies and procedures and assist in ensuring employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels using various tools such as ads, order guides, and sales history
- assist in training associates on presentation, freshness, pricing, food handling, stocking, and rotation standards
- record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to take corrective actions
- accurately record inventory levels as requested
- maintain daily contact with customers to address needs and requests efficiently and timely
- assist in ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and training associates
- assist with other operational areas as directed by the store manager
