Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures manuals
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to learn and perform cash register functions
- Ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control
- Knowledge of facility and safety control policies
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Good organization skills with attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies
- Ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
Job Duties
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and key control
- Follow company policies and ensure employee compliance
- Maintain correct perishable stock levels using order guides and sales history
- Train associates in freshness, presentation, and pricing standards for perishable goods
- Train associates in safe food handling and compliance with regulations
- Record perishable markdowns, analyze causes, and take corrective actions
- Assist with customer service and operational areas as directed by Store Manager
