Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
  • one year of experience in a retail environment
  • six months of supervisory experience preferred
  • previous lead and/or grocery store experience preferred
  • attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, diagrams, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and cash register functions
  • ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control
  • knowledge of facility safety and cash control policies
  • knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
  • good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • understanding of safety policies and practices
  • ability to follow merchandise presentation guidelines
  • willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
  • ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications

Job Duties

  • Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices
  • follow company policies and ensure employee compliance
  • maintain correct perishable stock levels using relevant order guides and sales history
  • assist in training associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe food handling
  • train associates in stocking and rotation of perishable products
  • record perishable markdowns, analyze causes, and implement corrective actions
  • accurately record inventory levels and assist in customer service needs
  • ensure compliance with sanitation standards and assist with other operational areas as directed
