Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of experience in a retail environment
- six months of supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead and/or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, diagrams, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
- ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and cash register functions
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
- knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control
- knowledge of facility safety and cash control policies
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- good organizational skills and attention to detail
- effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to follow merchandise presentation guidelines
- willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
- ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
Job Duties
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices
- follow company policies and ensure employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels using relevant order guides and sales history
- assist in training associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe food handling
- train associates in stocking and rotation of perishable products
- record perishable markdowns, analyze causes, and implement corrective actions
- accurately record inventory levels and assist in customer service needs
- ensure compliance with sanitation standards and assist with other operational areas as directed
