Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of retail experience
  • six months supervisory experience preferred
  • previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
  • attainment of required food handling certifications if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and maintenance instructions
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages
  • ability to learn and operate cash register functions
  • ability to review operating statements and identify business trends
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control
  • knowledge of safety control policies and practices
  • knowledge of inventory management and merchandising
  • good organization skills with attention to detail
  • effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • understanding of safety policies and practices
  • ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
  • knowledge of company policies and willingness to comply
  • ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications

Job Duties

  • assist store manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and key control
  • follow company policies and procedures and assist in employee compliance
  • maintain correct perishable stock levels using inventory tools
  • assist in training associates in product presentation, freshness and pricing
  • train associates in proper and safe food handling complying with regulations
  • record perishable markdowns, analyze causes, and take corrective actions
  • accurately record inventory levels when requested
  • assist store manager in addressing customer needs efficiently
  • ensure compliance with sanitation standards and training of associates
  • assist with other operational areas as directed
