Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a retail environment
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
- Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
- Ability to read and interpret safety and operating instructions
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to learn cash register functions and generate reports
- Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Willingness to comply with company policies
- Ability to obtain required food handling certifications
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
- Ability to review Operating Statements and identify business trends including sales, profitability, expense control, shrink and errors
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Good organization skills with attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and practices
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- Knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
- Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred
- Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable
Job Duties
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and key control
- Follow company policies and procedures and assist Store Manager in ensuring employee compliance
- Maintain correct perishable stock levels using ads, order guides and sales history
- Train assigned associates in presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas
- Train associates in proper and safe food handling in compliance with regulations
- Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrence
- Accurately record inventory levels as requested
- Assist Store Manager in addressing customer needs and maintaining merchandise expectations
- Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and train associates using cleaning schedules
- Assist with other operational areas as directed by Store Manager
