Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of retail experience
- Six months of supervisory experience preferred
- Previous leadership or grocery store experience preferred
- Ability to obtain local and state food handling certifications
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds
- Ability to drive and provide own transportation for duties such as bank deposits and attending meetings
- Willingness to work in fast-paced environments with moderate noise levels
- Availability to work under various weather conditions including exposure to cold in freezers
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages
- Ability to learn and operate cash register functions
- Ability to review financial statements and identify business trends
- Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures
- Knowledge of facility and safety control policies
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies and procedures
- Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidelines
- Willingness to comply with company policies
- Ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience in retail and supervisory roles preferred
- Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- Attainment of local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Duties
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices
- Follow company policies and procedures ensuring employee compliance
- Maintain correct perishable stock levels using tools like ads, order guides, and sales history
- Train associates in stocking, presentation, freshness, pricing, and safe food handling
- Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to take corrective action
- Accurately record inventory levels as requested
- Assist Store Manager in addressing customer needs efficiently
- Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and training
- Assist with other operational tasks as directed by Store Manager
