Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of retail experience
  • Six months of supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous leadership or grocery store experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain local and state food handling certifications
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to drive and provide own transportation for duties such as bank deposits and attending meetings
  • Willingness to work in fast-paced environments with moderate noise levels
  • Availability to work under various weather conditions including exposure to cold in freezers

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages
  • Ability to learn and operate cash register functions
  • Ability to review financial statements and identify business trends
  • Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures
  • Knowledge of facility and safety control policies
  • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidelines
  • Willingness to comply with company policies
  • Ability and willingness to obtain required food handling certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Experience in retail and supervisory roles preferred
  • Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
  • Attainment of local and state food handling certifications if applicable

Job Duties

  • Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices
  • Follow company policies and procedures ensuring employee compliance
  • Maintain correct perishable stock levels using tools like ads, order guides, and sales history
  • Train associates in stocking, presentation, freshness, pricing, and safe food handling
  • Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to take corrective action
  • Accurately record inventory levels as requested
  • Assist Store Manager in addressing customer needs efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and training
  • Assist with other operational tasks as directed by Store Manager
