Job Requirements

  • Meet specialized experience requirements for the applicable GS grade
  • Provide proof of time-in-grade federal service
  • Demonstrate ability to lift and handle products up to 40 pounds unassisted
  • Stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Submit transcripts if education is used to qualify
  • Meet time after competitive appointment requirements
  • Comply with federal application processes and competency evaluations

Job Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level for GS-9
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 grade level for GS-10
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level for GS-11
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level for GS-12
  • Education in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics, or related fields
  • Ability to combine specialized experience and education to meet qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods
  • Experience managing retail food store operations
  • Familiarity with federal retail food merchandising practices

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and control retail store operations
  • Manage procurement and distribution of retail food items
  • Supervise and train commissary staff
  • Develop and apply retail policies and procedures
  • Monitor inventory control and merchandising standards
  • Provide technical advice on grocery, meats, and produce management
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and operational standards
