Job Requirements
- Meet qualifications by the announcement closing date
- Provide a resume (and transcripts if relying on education) showing specialized experience and/or education
- Specialized experience in retail procurement, distribution, food merchandising, and store management
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 40 pounds unassisted and over 40 with assistance
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb for prolonged periods
- Meet federal time-in-grade and time-after-competitive appointment requirements
- U.S. federal employment eligibility
- Complete competency assessments in commissary operations, interpersonal skills, and supervision
- Ability to work occasional overtime
- Non-bargaining unit status
Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level for GS-9
- Master's or equivalent degree or two years of graduate education for GS-9
- Combination of specialized experience and education for GS-9
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 grade level for GS-10
- Two and a half years of graduate education for GS-10
- Combination of specialized experience and education for GS-10
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level for GS-11
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree for GS-11
- Combination of specialized experience and education for GS-11
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level for GS-12
Job Duties
- Plan retail commissary operations to meet organizational goals
- Direct daily store functions including inventory control and customer service
- Coordinate staff activities and provide supervision and training
- Control procurement, merchandising, and distribution of retail food products
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and operating standards
- Provide technical advice on merchandising and operational issues
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manage physical store conditions
