This position is with a federal agency operating commissary stores that serve military and other eligible patrons. Job Requirements
- meet qualifications and requirements by announcement closing date
- submit resume and transcripts if applicable
- specialized experience in retail food store management
- ability to lift and handle up to 40 pounds unassisted
- physical capacity to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb for prolonged periods
- meet time-in-grade requirements
- meet time after competitive appointment requirements
- respond to competence questions on commissary operations, interpersonal skills, and supervision
- U.S. Department of Education accredited transcripts if education is used
- provide official documents if selected
- occasional overtime

Job Qualifications
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level for GS-9
- master’s or equivalent degree or two years of progressively higher graduate education for GS-9
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-8 grade level for GS-10
- two and one-half years of progressively higher graduate education for GS-10
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level for GS-11
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three years of progressively higher graduate education for GS-11
- one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level for GS-12
Job Duties
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and control retail operations of the commissary
- manage commissary procurement and distribution processes
- oversee merchandising and retail food store management
- develop and apply policies and procedures for store operations
- provide technical advice on merchandising and operational matters
- supervise staff and ensure compliance with standards
- maintain high customer service and store appearance standards
