- High school diploma or equivalent
- three or more years of management experience
- proficiency in basic business and finance principles
- strong problem-solving skills
- excellent communication and computer abilities
- retail management experience preferred
- ability to lead and develop teams

- valid driver’s license
- willingness to complete management training modules if applicable

Job Duties
- Build a team that embodies the Petco brand by delivering exceptional service and driving guest loyalty
- attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent
- train, coach, and develop leaders and hourly partners to run the store efficiently and according to Petco standards
- create a professional environment that inspires growth and engagement
- lead and implement a culture of teamwork and inclusion
- ensure quick and courteous service by assisting partners in meeting guests’ needs
- meet or exceed sales, profitability, and operational goals
- schedule and adjust labor hours and payroll for maximum productivity
- review financial and operational reports including center visits and audits
- develop strategies to improve and grow the business
- plan and market community and store events such as adoptions and local promotions
- ensure the health, appearance, and proper care of all animals
- maintain proper merchandise pricing, display, and stocking
- complete accounting, inventory, and payroll paperwork timely
- uphold store appearance and adhere to safety procedures
- enforce all Petco standards including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention
- open and close the store following policies
- maintain professional image and cleanliness
- model inspiring leadership and selling behaviors
- promote and enforce safety policies as a top priority
- foster a collaborative culture encouraging efficiency and guest satisfaction
- prioritize talent development and leadership opportunities
- engage and be present as a positive representative of Petco’s brand and culture
