Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in retail management or related operations
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulatory compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and customers
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to drive and travel between company locations as needed
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a progressive operations role including managing different sales volume stores
- Confident working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Proven experience addressing diverse team member and management issues
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws including labor and immigration
- Ability to develop practical action plans based on business needs
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including active listening
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective planning, prioritization, and time management skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for all facets of the store operations including inventory levels, store conditions, loss prevention, and security issues
- Demonstrates care and compassion for people and builds positive team relationships
- Provides guidance to Assistant Managers and Department Team Leaders to connect metrics to business processes
- Partners with Department Trainers to achieve results
- Ensures store operations comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Meets or exceeds all weekly operational metrics
- Evaluates and adjusts in-store processes
- Communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, customer service, safety, and food safety
- Develops succession plans for leadership positions
- Recruits, trains, coaches, and develops Department Team Leaders
- Sets performance expectations and manages team member turnover
- Provides advice and assistance to store team
- Promotes a positive work environment and leads by example
- Engages with customers to ensure customer service excellence
- Works with Human Resources for staffing needs
- Improves speed of service and operational efficiency
- Demonstrates strong leadership, motivation, and engagement
- Manages stress and change effectively
- Develops and implements improvement plans
- Communicates company objectives to team
- Resolves complaints and counsels team members
- Coaches leaders and team members through difficult issues
- Prepares and reviews financial forecasts and performance analysis
- Delivers payroll goals and manages payroll discipline
- Supports programs to control shrink and costs
- Reviews Key Performance Indicators with team
- Analyzes financial data to identify opportunities
- Develops and monitors budgets
- Ensures timely execution of merchandising and promotion initiatives
- Promotes safety and zero accident culture
- Maintains compliance with laws and company standards
- Oversees maintenance and repairs of store facilities
- Advises on remodels or major repairs
- Monitors market conditions and competitive activity
- Performs other related duties as assigned
