Job Requirements
- minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- at least 6 years of professional experience
- preferred experience in grocery retail of 5-7 years
- knowledge of natural foods industry advantageous
- must maintain high customer service standards at all times
- effective problem-solving skills and initiative
- good written and verbal communication
- skilled in MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- able to multitask and organize effectively
- ability to oversee staff and lead teams
- understanding of health and safety regulations for grocery stores
- availability to work flexible hours
- strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- capable of financial analysis and strategic planning
- able to work in a dynamic retail environment and collaborate cross-functionally
Job Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- minimum of 6 years professional experience
- preferred 5-7 years grocery retail experience including store operations and merchandising
- previous natural foods industry experience is a plus
- advanced knowledge of customer service
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- proficiency with MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- ability to lead, support, and contribute to team goals
- knowledge of health department guidelines in a grocery retail environment
- demonstrated ability to improve staff performance through motivation and training
- ability to analyze financial statements and develop action plans
- flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to retail environment
Job Duties
- work with all departments to ensure smooth store operations
- prepare weekly sales and labor projections and execute plans to achieve budgeted payroll
- oversee department managers for hiring, scheduling, labor cost control, and training
- hire, develop, evaluate, and supervise department managers and staff
- manage store financials and fully comprehend profit and loss statements
- maintain store sanitation and comply with local laws
- ensure store safety for employees, vendors, and customers
- approve and monitor all store expenses
- coordinate with support department directors for business communication
- ensure monthly inventory counts and store readiness
- address customer issues, personnel matters, and policy enforcement
- coordinate store events including sales flyers, merchandising plans, and marketing promotions
- oversee merchandising, loss prevention, and store appearance
- anticipate business fluctuations and adjust labor allocation
- sustain high product knowledge and preparation standards
- maintain organized and clean store appearance
- perform other duties as assigned
