Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in deli or food service management
  • ability to pass ServSafe certification
  • valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to train and motivate staff
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on deli equipment

Job Duties

  • assist the store manager in supervisory decisions consistent with company standards policies and procedures
  • assist in planning leadership organization and follow-up with controllable expenses sales expenses sales increases food costs and shortage controls
  • set an exemplary example for co-workers in professionalism attitude and teamwork in customer service and convenience store operations
  • conduct new employee orientation and training
  • promote continued development of all employees and document performance and conduct evaluations
  • conduct daily walk-throughs prioritize organize delegate and follow-up on tasks
  • maintain accurate inventories order and maintain deli merchandise and achieve favorable deli metrics
  • conduct maintenance in the deli area including basic preventative maintenance and repairs of deli equipment
  • follow sanitation procedures and maintain quality standards in food preparation
  • prepare deli items and cook heated items as required
  • promote kitchen and store safety
  • check in deli vendors cross-check orders check items by line number put away orders watch for miss-picks wrong pack sizes and broken or open merchandise
  • maintain PLUs and print list for tills
  • keep product rotated and fresh check expiration dates remove and discard unauthorized products
  • complete and pass ServSafe certification and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
