Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Beginner knowledge of touch screen cash registers
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull
  • Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Ability to work in a moderate noise level environment

Job Duties

  • Greeting each customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude
  • Providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times
  • Directing customers to the proper area and providing general information as requested
  • Ringing up all sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales
  • Ensuring that each customer receives the proper change and correct receipt for purchase
  • Following all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and change Round Up program
  • Keeping the register area clean and orderly at all times
  • Answering telephone calls promptly using an established etiquette procedure
  • Assisting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery
