Job Requirements

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility with work schedule including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals safely with proper protective equipment

- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly give direction and collaborate with culinary, stewarding and banquet teams
- Ability to lead with care and clarity, setting a positive example for the team while promoting a respectful and supportive work culture
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in stewarding, hospitality, or related operations is highly preferred
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email, complete digital forms, and navigate simple workplace software or applications
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize cleaning cycles, support multiple kitchens, and maintain workflow under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a warm, humid, and fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including potential overtime
- Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required
Job Duties
- Serve as a working leader within the stewarding team, supervising dishwashing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely and efficient cleaning and sanitization of all kitchen equipment, dishware, glassware, and utensils
- Work in tandem with the culinary and stewarding leadership to coordinate workflow, support prep and service timing, and ensure the dish area operates smoothly throughout the day and during peak service times
- Maintain strict adherence to all local, state, and federal food safety, sanitation, and occupational health standards
- Ensure proper use and concentration of cleaning chemicals, and that ware-washing machines and sanitation procedures are functioning and followed appropriately
- Support the onboarding and ongoing training of new dishwashing staff
- Reinforce best practices in sanitation, proper equipment usage, time management, and safety protocols, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Assist with stewarding supply ordering and inventory management, including chemicals, cleaning tools, and ware-washing equipment
- Ensure proper stock levels are maintained, and items are stored safely and organized
- Maintain a clean and orderly dish area, ensuring all workstations and equipment are cleaned regularly, properly stored, and maintained in working condition
- Monitor trash and recycling procedures to ensure they are followed correctly
- Oversee the proper use and daily maintenance of dish machines, garbage disposals, and other cleaning equipment
- Promptly report any issues or breakdowns to maintenance and ensure that safety logs and temperature checks are completed as required
- Support culinary and banquet operations by ensuring all necessary small wares, service pieces, and kitchen equipment are clean, available, and delivered to appropriate stations
- Assist with room setups for banquets and kitchen deep cleaning projects as needed
- Adapt to varying schedules and work demands, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Be prepared to work overtime or adjust shifts based on business volumes and staffing needs
