Job Requirements
- ability to work a full-time evening shift Monday through Sunday including holidays
- ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- frequently stand, walk and use hands
- occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- willingness to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
- adherence to hotel grooming and punctuality policies
- consistent and reliable attendance
- strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- ability to manage team dynamics and maintain departmental standards
- knowledge of safety protocols and chemical handling
- active participation in hotel health and safety programs
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- at least two years of customer service experience
- at least two years of supervisory experience or five consecutive years as a steward in a hotel restaurant
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to interact with diverse populations
- basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
- problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- proficiency in computer applications such as Delphi, UltiPro, Word and Excel
- capability to supervise hourly and contract associates
- strong leadership and teamwork skills
- commitment to safety and professionalism
Job Duties
- Lead, teach, coach and inspire stewards during the evening shift
- ensure stewarding associates arrive on time and are well groomed
- assign work stations and communicate event details
- monitor adherence to department and hotel standards
- open and close shifts
- ensure kitchens are clean, organized and sanitized
- complete daily task lists
- facilitate inter-departmental communication
- oversee garbage and recycling removal
- assist in the proper use of chemicals and provide training
- respond to resource requests from culinary and outlets
- maintain and store equipment
- attend departmental meetings
- keep storage rooms clean and orderly
- foster cooperation within and between departments
- promote professional work habits aligned with hotel values
- actively participate in hotel committees
- ensure compliance with safety regulations
- maintain a clean and safe work environment
- perform other duties as assigned
