Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in stewarding or related department
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of Board of Health and safety codes
  • Ability to manage payroll and labor costs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to handle employee relations and disciplinary actions
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Ability to conduct inventory and control supplies
  • Commitment to company policies and hospitality standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in stewarding or similar hospitality role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Experience with inventory control and payroll management

  • Proficiency in scheduling and cost control

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective management of stewarding department
  • Screen and interview qualified potential applicants for employment
  • Prepare weekly schedules and daily payroll edits
  • Approve staff-match and IHS bills invoices and turn in for payment
  • Control requisitioning and distributing of china glass and silverware
  • Coordinates monthly inventories of all operation equipment
  • Responsible for reviewing and implementing corrective action for Board of Health code violations
  • Assist chef with banquet dish-ups
  • Maintain adequate CGS inventory
  • Inspect kitchens and store rooms to ensure premises and equipment are clean and in order
  • Coordinate work on non-cooking kitchen and storeroom workers engaged in dishwashing, silver cleaning, and storage
  • Establish controls to guard against theft and wastage
  • Confer with Executive chef or food service manager concerning banquet arrangements
  • Attend weekly catering, safety and F&B Meetings
  • Conduct monthly department meeting
  • Provide effective leadership and discipline for employees
  • Maintain and monitor control of operating expenses
  • Forecast and monitor labor cost
  • Attract, retain, and motivate the best talent
  • Ensure team members receive proper training
  • Monitor, measure, and recognize performance of team members
  • Support, comply and promote company initiative, policies and guidelines
  • Handle employee issues professionally and timely
  • Ensure success through the eyes of employees, guests, and owners
  • Collaborate with resources across departments and corporate office
  • Influence employees to perform to their highest standard
  • Focus on the mission and well-being of the department, hotel, and company
  • Lead by example and operate with integrity and respect
