Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- sanitation and hygiene certificate preferably
- 1-2 years of experience as steward in a four star hotel or restaurant
- knowledge of job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- ability to read, write and communicate in English
- basic mathematical calculation skills
- ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
- ability to work as part of a team
- good judgment and problem-solving skills under pressure
- physical ability to lift and move items weighing 20-50 pounds
- commitment to uphold high ethical standards and company policies

Job Duties
- Prepare the dishwasher area
- arrange plate dollies, glass racks and silverware
- prepare dish machine with appropriate chemicals
- prepare pot washer station with appropriate chemicals
- operate dish machine according to standard
- wash all china, glass and silverware for all outlets
- separate, clean and store items promptly
- wash all pots and pans for all outlets
- ensure refrigerators, bars and service bars are properly cleaned
- check sanitizer and dish washer temperature
- use chemicals for correct purposes
- check and supply cleaning materials for all stations
- keep kitchen area clean
- provide support throughout all kitchen areas
- empty trash in and around kitchen and sanitize trash cans
- provide necessary equipment to banquet kitchen, restock line, garde manger and pastry shop
- delime dish machine with lime away chemical when possible
- sanitize dish room station including walls, tiles and baseboards
- follow kitchen cleaning schedules
- clean wall tiles, baseboards and kitchen coolers when possible
- keep fire exits clear of equipment
- keep area of work clean and organized
- participate in recycling efforts
- keep dumpster area clean
- prepare banquet area for cleaning
- assist with plating as necessary
- take ownership of steward-related problems
- report maintenance issues to supervisor
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
