Job Duties
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace

- performs daily tasking in an efficient and thorough manner, as instructed by Dining Attendant, Lead
- responsible for all aspects of safety and sanitation in the kitchen, dining and service areas, including proper equipment usage and safety procedures, timely cleaning of all equipment and proper organization of dry storage and refrigerated areas in the service area
- stocks/replenishes all ancillary food items and non-food items, as detailed by tasking sheet, during and between meal hours
- cleans and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, etc. and operates relevant machinery, monitoring water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- responsible for preparing and chilling sufficient beverages and frozen dessert mixes to support usage by the community
- responsible for maintaining clean and organized service, dining, and work areas
- responsible for proper selection and presentation of during meal times and appropriate storage of leftovers after meal service
- responsible for following proper thawing procedures for frozen items
- responsible for proper labeling and dating of leftover food, prepared beverages and frozen dessert mixes
- responsible for discarding all food waste and non-food waste in a timely manner, and in accordance with approved waste management guidelines
- monitors coffee/beverage consumption and replenishes when necessary
- coordinates with cooks to ensure timely transfer and scraping of dirty pots to pot-washing area as well as other duties as required
- responsible for coordinating the preparation and distribution of bagged lunches for departing field parties and flight crews as directed by Dining Attendant, Lead
- must be able to lift and move up to the safety regulation maximum in a safe manner and perform functions requiring repetitive motion, standing for up to 9 hours daily, and working on hands and knees
- supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, affected by this position's work activities
- complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation
- works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments
- stewards may be required to work on a night shift
- dayshift work hours are variable and subject to change with very little notice
- agrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities in food services and janitorial duties
- attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement to the attention of the Steward Coordinator, or Lead Dining Attendants
- performs other related duties as assigned by manager-on-duty
