Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a steward or similar cleaning role in a hospitality environment preferred
- knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety standards
- ability to operate industrial dishwashing equipment
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- good communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Job Duties
- ensure dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
- clean kitchen tools, cooking equipment, countertops, and food prep areas
- manage the disposal of trash and food waste according to local regulations
- ensure kitchen and dining areas are well-stocked with cleaning supplies
- organize and store kitchen equipment and utensils properly
- assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables and washing produce
- maintain hygiene standards including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and utensils after every use
