Job Description
The role of a Steward is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a kitchen and dining area in any restaurant or food service establishment. Stewards contribute significantly to the overall efficiency and hygiene of kitchen operations by performing a variety of cleaning, organizing, and restocking tasks. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment advantageous
- ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
- clean tableware
- maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition
- clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment
- place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
- store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas
- sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- remove trash
- sweep or scrub floors
- stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
- stock serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies
- prepare and package individual place settings
- package food or supplies
- clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving
- prepare foods for cooking or serving
- receive and store supplies
- clean garbage cans with water or steam
- load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies
- transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
- move equipment, supplies or food to required locations
