Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is an advantage
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to adhere to hygiene and uniform standards

- Able to perform simple, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis
- Follow uniform and personal hygiene policies
Job Duties
- Clean dishes, pots and pans, glassware and silverware by hand or machine
- Receives tableware from Dining and Health Care, or stacks tableware on a carrier for transporting to dish washing room
- Transports cleaned and dried tableware to proper places in dining room and kitchen areas
- Cleans working areas, steam tables, refrigerators and kitchen equipment
- Removes garbage from kitchen areas, sweeps and mops floors thoroughly at end of shift, follows daily sanitation cleaning schedule
- Secures kitchen before leaving by turning off all lights and locking all doors
- Discards broken and chipped glassware after showing items to be discarded to the Steward supervisor immediately upon noticing any damage to the tableware
- Having sufficient quantities of cleaned tableware in time to meet meal schedules, and insure that dining room/floors and kitchen surroundings are clean
- Cooperates and coordinates work activities with co-workers to ensure a smooth run department
- Performs any extra job duties or special projects as assigned by the Steward supervisor
