Job Requirements
- six months experience as a sterile processing technician
- two continuing education courses within 12 months of hire
- participation in a quality improvement project within 12 months of hire
- current certification with the California Board of Sterile Processing or equivalent
- current CPR certification
- ability to communicate professionally with physicians, staff, and patients
- ability to follow technical instructions and work in a fast paced environment
- ability to read and interpret hazardous chemical statements and MSDS
- ability to use computer software for inventory control and educational programs
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of decontamination and sterilization methods
- proficiency with computer software for inventory control
Job Duties
- perform decontamination of surgical instruments and patient care equipment
- package and sterilize instruments following established protocols
- handle and store sterile supplies appropriately
- maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes
- manage Surgical Case Cart supplies and equipment
- assist with room turnovers and replenishment of stock
- orient and train new sterile processing staff
