Job Requirements

- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, and work at a bar including ability to tolerate changes in temperature, frequent immersion of hands in water, cleaning, and sanitizing solutions
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted and can be loud with guest chatter, overhead music, and live entertainment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and respond to visual and aural cues
- Must possess the manual dexterity to operate point of sale, glasswasher, mixing utensils and other bar and restaurant related equipment
- Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye hand coordination
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months and meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Transfer and Promotion policy
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled
- Must be able to obtain required work cards, alcohol awareness cards and non-gaming registration as required by the local jurisdiction
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must pass any and all required background checks
Job Duties
- Greet each table in accordance with sequence of service standards and offer their name and assistance throughout the dining experience
- Engage all guests with a consistently friendly and upbeat personality and strive to establish rapport with all Steakhouse patrons
- Demonstrate a commitment to a timely and seamless dining experience for each guest
- Work collaboratively with all room staff to ensure an efficient flow of service is experienced by each guest
- Immediately report any delay in service or guest opportunities to the room manager
- Be consistently knowledgeable of Chef’s specials and any changes to the dining menu, cocktail menu, or wine list
- Accurately record and place all food and beverage orders and ensure the timeliness of service to all guests by working collaboratively with kitchen staff and bartenders
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beer, and non-alcoholic selections available within the outlet
- Always maintain an orderly and clean dining room, including table surfaces, coolers, wells, sinks, server prep area, and lounge
- Maintain product inventory and supplies including all garnishes, glassware, serving ware, flatware, ice, and miscellaneous supplies throughout shift
- Ensure receipt of accurate payments, balance cash drawer during shift, and maintain security and accuracy of bank
- Demonstrate skills in guest recovery and request assistance from management staff as needed
- Utilize all opening and closing checklists effectively and carry out all duties in accordance with room standards
- Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shifts and staff meetings
- Consistently use all equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products in accordance with all SDS sheets and departmental standards
- Provide BIG Service to internal and external guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset
- Develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors
- Ensure that work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
- Work safely by following company safety policies and procedures, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions
- Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday
- Assist with training and mentoring of new team members as requested
- Maintain all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines
- Inform the manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur
- Keep a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a continuously fast-paced environment
- Display honesty and a high degree of integrity in all interactions
- Work independently with little to no supervision or as part of a team
- Complete and pass all alcohol awareness training and obtain certificates, and all other food alcohol and food safety training as required by The Nash
- Remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
