Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a sous chef or similar position
  • Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques, menus, and recipes for a specific cuisine or style
  • Ability to stand for the majority of a shift
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as grasping, reaching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses or certifications

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to established recipes and standards alongside kitchen staff
  • Supervise and direct the work of kitchen staff in assigned specialty restaurant
  • Handle personnel matters including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluating, promoting, counseling, and discharging
  • Requisition stock according to business needs
  • Ensure all food products meet quality standards and are properly stored and rotated
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen, storage areas, and related spaces
  • Resolve customer complaints about food quality or preparation in a timely and appropriate manner
