Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be able to obtain required work cards, alcohol awareness cards and non-gaming registration as required by the local jurisdiction
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including day, swing, late-night, weekend and holiday as scheduled
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months and meet eligibility requirements as outlined in the Transfer and Promotion policy
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work safely and follow company safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers and management
- Must be able to handle high-pressure situations in a calm and professional manner
- Must be able to use computer systems for reservations and guest management
- Must maintain professionalism and appearance standards in accordance with company guidelines
- Must be compliant with all legal and company regulations.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is an asset
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage guests naturally
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Knowledge of reservation and guest management systems preferred
- Ability to remain calm and friendly in fast-paced and stressful environments
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Demonstrated honesty and integrity in the workplace.
Job Duties
- Greet each guest in accordance with sequence of service standards and offer their name and assistance upon the guest's arrival
- Engage all guests with a consistently friendly and upbeat personality and strive to establish rapport with all Steakhouse patrons
- Work collaboratively with all room staff to ensure an exceptional guest experience and the proper flow of the dining room and bar
- Immediately report any excessive delay in the seating of guests or potential guest opportunities to the room manager
- Effectively utilize all reservation tools, accurately record reservations and cancellations, and update the room manager of expected reservation counts before and throughout the shift
- Answer all incoming telephone calls in a timely and friendly manner and provide the appropriate service requested by the guest
- Be knowledgeable of all menus, promotions, specials, and entertainment offerings and respond to guest inquiries effectively
- Consistently monitor both the reservation and waiting list and inform guests of their expected seating time
- Enter guests’ names into the computer system, show guests to their table, and introduce the serving staff
- Demonstrate the ability to carry out natural conversation with guests without sounding scripted or intrusive
- Tend to special guest needs and requests in a friendly and professional manner and seek the room manager’s assistance as necessary
- Consistently bid all departing guests a fond farewell and invite them back
- Demonstrate skills in guest recovery and request assistance from management staff as needed
- Utilize all opening and closing checklists effectively and carry out all duties in accordance with room standards
- Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings
- Consistently use all bar and restaurant equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products in accordance with all MSDS sheets and departmental standards
- Provide BIG Service to internal and external guests and ensure their complete satisfaction
- Develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors
- Ensure work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
- Follow company safety policies and procedures and work safely at all times
- Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday
- Assist with training and mentoring of new team members as requested
- Maintain all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines
- Inform manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur
- Keep a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress and fast-paced environments
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all interactions
- Work independently with little to no supervision or as part of a team
- Comply with all legal and company regulations.
