Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Seven years of airport operations experience in roles with increasing responsibility or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or two additional years of relevant training/experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across internal divisions and vendor teams
  • Understanding of LEAN process improvement principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of fiscal control, staffing processes, safety and security compliance
  • Knowledge of TSA, FAA, and IATA regulations
  • Must obtain and maintain airport SIDA badge
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing as per DOT regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or additional relevant training/experience in lieu of degree
  • Seven years of progressive airport operations experience
  • Ability to build positive work environments fostering collaboration across divisions and vendors
  • Understanding and application of LEAN process improvement principles
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with good judgment, business acumen, and urgency balanced with safety
  • Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety and security compliance
  • Solid knowledge of TSA, FAA, and IATA regulations related to customer handling
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Manage all phases of station operations during designated shift to exceed key operational metrics including CD0, MBR, TTC, and productivity
  • Make decisions related to all station functions including ramp operations, customer service, ticketing, baggage handling, passenger security, and vendor oversight ensuring compliance with company standards and federal, state, local regulations
  • Influence station teams and collaborate cross-divisionally with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Inflight, and Network Operations Control to manage passenger, baggage, and on-time performance impacts
  • Leverage deep business knowledge to establish priorities achieving quality service and operational goals
  • Collaborate with Guest Service Coordination Center to proactively address operational challenges affecting staffing and guest experience
  • Manage vendor performance and partnerships by providing oversight and feedback
  • Partner regularly with Port leadership and government agencies like TSA and Police to safeguard Alaska’s interests
  • Influence team on regulatory, technological, and business changes related to customer handling operations
