Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Three years of experience cooking in a full-service or institutional kitchen required
- ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or ANSI accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program required within 30 days of hire
- Must maintain current certification during employment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 1 pm - 7 pm with rotating weekends
- Compliance with hospital safety and health regulations
- Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to perform cleaning duties and operate kitchen equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of experience cooking in a full-service or institutional kitchen
- ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another ANSI accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program within 30 days of hire
- Ability to instruct and guide culinary staff
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow hospital and culinary policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare rotating menu items at the Plate by Plate station and work at other stations
- Provide instruction and guidance to the cooks
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and internal/external customers
- Adhere to department, hospital, and culinary policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the hospital
- Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas and ensure proper equipment operation
